As a non-profit spending a lot of time with kids and teachers, it’s so rewarding to hear from parents about the impact we made during the day. It makes our long days and short nights all worth it when we hear from parents that we awakened the aptitude for STEM in their child. Check out this testimonial our founder just received from our new friend Blake, a parent of a daughter in a Boise area school. It doesn’t get any better than this right here. *tears up*
Lorna, I just wanted to send you a little note about a recent conversation I had with my 10-year-old daughter (4th grader) after the Stem bus made it to her elementary school in Eagle, Idaho. She was so excited about the opportunity, she just couldn’t stop talking about it for the week leading up the the day when the bus would be at her school and all of the activities associated with it that day.
After school, she couldn’t stop telling me all of the amazing things she learned. She was so excited.
Then she told me the following about an experience that she had with her best friend, Josie:
“Dad, Josie and I decided after today that she is going to be a scientist – because she loves science and that’s her favorite subject; and I’m going to be a doctor, and we are going to work together to find a cure for cancer. Don’t you think that will be so great?”
And it brought tears to my eyes to see the excitement of my daughter, and her inspiration and desire to use science to make a difference in the world.
Thank you for your instrumental role in bringing this opportunity to her – for helping to inspire our children to be great and change the world!”
